The Queen mother of Awutu Bontrase in the central region, Naakye Afia Owudei has expressed concerns on the high rate of teenage pregnancy in the area.
She made the observation during the celebration of the Awubia festival in Bontrase, Wednesday August 30, 223
She further adviced parents to take good care of their children.
“These children are the generational leaders of the society, so, they should be enlightened by their parents on how to dress decently”, she said.
She emphasized that parents are expected to be pay close attention to the various activities of their wards and equally direct them towards the right path.
She further spoke about the grievances of the people in the locality. She highlighted on the fact that, they needed an intermediary between the society and the political team (Assembly man).
She underscored that Awutu Bontrase is recognized among the yam producing societies yet they lacked proper road network, hence, the government should come to their aid.
Lastly, she suggested that the government should supply electricity to their secondary institutions in order to improve the quality of education.
