Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has stated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s inaugural speech in January 2017, which was full of other people’s works and ideas, was a true reflection of what he portrayed.
According to him, Ghanaians should have known they were going to deal with a fake person having realized the speech was full of plagiarism.
Speaking on the topic “Scareface of Corruption in Ghana” at a forum organised by the Crusaders Against Corruption, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said the matter that became a subject at the period should have raised concerns about Akufo-Addo’s credibility.
“When Akufo-Addo was sworn in as President, his speech was full of speeches that had been made by others [plagiarism].
“That should have warned all of us that we were dealing with a fake person, but none of us challenged him; we clapped for him,” he said on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Speaking further, he criticized the President’s lack of political will to fight the corruption and corruption-related activities that have become too many under his administration.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, in his suggestion to help curb the corruption canker in the country, said the era where politicians are allowed to defend issues that are indefensible on live television must not be entertained.
“So when people are fooling, the argument we have on television and radio now where a member of a political party will come and just try to defend the indefensible must be a concern to all of you,” he added.
