One of the 11 children injured in the Dzorwulu Highway accident has died while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Police Hospital.
The child was among victims of a crash on the Accra Mall to Dzorwulu stretch involving a tipper truck and a stationary sprinter bus carrying children aged between 3 and 10 years old.

Preliminary findings indicate the children were returning from Ashaiman towards Accra and not from an excursion. Initial reports suggest the tipper truck driver attempted a wrongful overtaking maneuver which led to the collision with the bus.

Fortunately, the remaining 10 children are alive and are currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital and Police Hospital. Some are said to be in critical condition.

Medical staff at both facilities have been working to stabilize the injured children.
The public has been urged to keep the affected families in prayers.
