The family of the late social media activist, Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Kaaka, has described the decision to exclude the family from the list of person(s) to be compensated over the Ejura Violence as mischievous.

According to spokesperson for the family, Abdul Nafiu Mohammed, the committee’s exclusion of their family from their recommendation to compensate some affected individuals was wrong because 40% of information contained in the report centres on Kaaka.

This is inspite of claims by the late social media activist was not the centre of their investiations.

“To be frank, taking a look at the compensation stated in the report, Kaaka’s family is not included and that’s where we see it as mischief. The committee recommended adequate compensation for the families of the two deceased persons, namely Abdul Nasir Yusif and Murtala Suraj Mohammed. Adequate compensation was also recommended to be paid to injured persons, namely Awal Misbau and Nasif Nuhu.

“From the onset the committee made us understand that they are not investigating circumstances leading to Kaaka’s death but when we did our analysis, 40% of the report contains issues pertaining to Kaaka.

“But if you take a critical look at it again, they talked about Kaaka findings, but at the recommendation, Kaaka’s part didn’t appeared in so what is the mischief there?? Abdul Nafiu Mohammed quizzed Kofi Adoma.

He stressed that, the family sees the committee’s decision to overlook their deceased from the committee recommendation to compensate them as deliberate, a situation he labelled as ‘adding insult to injury’.
