Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and a member of the National Democratic Congress, Kojo Bonsu, has visted the Kumasi Children’s home to celebrate Christmas with the children.

According to him it is a sign of love and care towards the needy.

He did this after Akwasidae celebration and a short meeting with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The politician believes that these are special kids who need to be shown love and support because they are future leaders.

He added that the children may be orphans today but hold a brighter future tomorrow.

Mr. Bonsu made a donation towards the wellbeing and happiness of the children and presented packs of assorted soft drinks, bags of water, packs of biscuits, toiletries, packs of food and an undisclosed amount of money.

The manger of the home, Ms Mabel Amponsah, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Kojo Bonsu for the kind gesture and support to the orphange

She prayed that God should bless him greatly hoping the children will emulate the example of Mr. Kojo Bonsu.

The Kumasi Children’s home was established in 1965 by a private organization and later became a government-run organization.

It is currently home to around 200 children between the ages of 0-23 years.

The home is run and supervised primarily by the department of social welfare under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
