The chief of Suampon-Suaduro which comprises Assin Praso and Assin Jakai in the Assin North and Assin South districts respectively, has urged parents to encourage their children to study very hard to become responsible citizens in future.

Speaking to Angel FM, Nana Owodo Aseku X, said without the strict guidance of parents, children cannot achieve their full potential, therefore they must take a keen interest in the academic work and welfare of their children.

Turning to children, he advised the students to go through the notes given by their teachers and stop watching movies and the use of mobile phones and focus more on their future.

“Learning is their future and without learning you can’t pass because most working places request for certificate before you can be employed, whether police or soldier. So if you don’t learn hard your future has the potential of becoming bleak,” he said in Twi.

He made the statement when he presented 60 dual desks to Assin Jakai D/A Basic School A and B to help bridge the furniture deficit in the school.

He also used the opportunity to tour the school and interact with teachers to ascertain the challenges of the school for purposes of finding possible solutions to them.

The headteacher of School B, Mr. Vincent Mbeah Arhin, who received the desks on behalf of the school expressed profound gratitude to the chief saying, the presentation will significantly provide a conducive learning environment and aid good teaching and learning.

“The desks and sitting arrangement have been a very big problem for the school so we promise that we will take good care of them so that what the authorities would add to it would complete it” he said while urging others to emulate the kind gesture of Nana Owodo Aseku X.

On his side, Krontihene of Assin Jakai and Assin Praso advised the pupils to stick to their books and refrain from behaviours that will mar their chances of success in life.

He also encouraged them to imbibe constant revision to help them better their understanding of what they have been taught in school.
