3rd meeting of 8th parliament commences Tuesday, October 25th

The Third meeting of the Second Session of the Eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic has been scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at about 10:00 am prompt.

The resumption of the House follows its adjournment on July 28, 2022.

The session that takes place at the Parliament House, Accra, is expected to deliberate on a total of 66 Bills that would be presented before the House.

Among these bills include the “Affirmation Action Bill, 2022, Ghana Housing Authority Bill, 2022, Minerals and Mining (Amendment), 2022, Small Scale Mining Bill, 2022, Petroleum Revenue Management (Amendment Bill, 2022), the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana (Amendment) Bill, 2021, a Private Members Bill which was referred to the Council of State will also be presented before the House.”

This was announced in a statement available to Angelonline.com.gh and signed by the Director, Public Affairs of the House, Ka Addo.

Others include 11 Bills currently at the committee level with seven of them being Public Bills and four Private Members Bill. These bills are the Intestate Succession Bill, 2022 (Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary
Affairs).

“Armed Forces (Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Committee on Defence and Interior),
Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021 (Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs), Criminal Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2021(Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs),” the statement noted.

It added that the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin would admit papers, petitions, motions for debates and questions to be answered by sector ministers during this meeting which constitute the instruments at various stages to be presented before the House.

Meanwhile, other events expected during this meeting are the presentation of the annual budget for 2023 and the festival of nine lessons and carols.

The statement thus entreated all staff and members of the House to take note and attend upon the House timeously.
