Presidential Candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo, has asserted that he is not going to rely on the International Monitoring Fund (IMF) if he is elected president of Ghana.

He postulated that with his background in accounting, he is confident in his ability to manage the country’s finances without external assistance.

“So as an accountant, I don’t need IMF money to run Ghana,” he said.

He made these comments during an interview on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Akpaloo questioned the necessity of borrowing substantial sums, citing the example of receiving $300 million for school feeding programs only to convert it into local currency.

He also emphasised the importance of fiscal prudence, stating that he could efficiently manage Ghana’s resources to alleviate the hardships faced by its citizens.
