Leader and Founder of the Union Government, Akwesi Addadi Odike implied that some manifesto promises of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama will cost the party in the 2020 elections.

Mr. Addai says the NDC has to re-strategize its campaign promises before the elections.

He said this on the Angel Morning Show while commenting on Mr. Mahama’s promise to distribute free sanitary pads nationwide to girls in school if elected president.

“John Mahama should just include razor blades, beads, and braziers with the pads they will provide to the women. John, you are really good at dealing with women issues, we are anticipating your provision of the pads, braziers, beads, and razor blades for them.”

According to the politician who is also a businessman, policies that promote growth and development should be the priority when considering manifesto promises.

But Odike could not fathom why Mr. Mahama chose the distribution of pads ahead of other equally importance policies. He added it should be the least of a promised by the caliber of a former statesman who is seeking reelection.

Owing to this, the failed 2020 presidential candidate shares the view that the 2024 elections will be a difficult one for the NDC.

“Mahama will make the NDC party suffer because his words irritate the people. If you provide pad luxury to Ghanaian women, then you lack the troops to lead Ghanaians.”

He continues “Leadership is about exhibiting your vision and skills in place to show Ghanaians why they should follow you and the benefits they would derive from doing so, resulting in a transformational shift.”
