NPP’s National Chair temporarily withdraws from party duties

Must Read

The family of Stephen Ayesu Ntim, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has requested temporary withdrawal from all party-related activities due to health concerns.

In a statement addressed to the party hierarchy, the family appealed for Mr. Ntim to be excused from both active political duties and internal engagements within the NPP.

The request comes ahead of a scheduled NPP meeting to be held at the Alisa Hotel on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, which Mr. Ntim is reportedly expected to chair.

However, the family says his current medical condition makes it unsafe and inappropriate for him to participate.

“Even merely participating in such an event will not augur well for him,” the family noted, emphasizing the need for urgent rest and medical monitoring.

The statement further expressed its strong conviction that the party would allow Mr. Ntim recover until his fully inclusion in activities.

“We, the family members of Stephen Ntim, trust the NPP party hierarchy and stake holders to accordingly do the right thing and excuse Mr. Ntim from being a part of the impending meeting and in events of the near future, while his future plans decisions and considerations are under review and consultation. We thank everyone concerned.”

They also acknowledged Mr. Ntim’s decades of dedication to the NPP, rising from Deputy Chairman to his current role as National Chairman.

However, they insisted that his future participation in party affairs should only be discussed after professional medical review and consultations.
