The Ghana Police Service has issued a strong disclaimer concerning false reports of an ongoing recruitment exercise, which have been widely circulated on social media.
In a press release dated June 23, 2025, the Service categorically denied any current recruitment activity and urged the public to treat such claims as fraudulent.
According to the statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the Police Service has “not announced any new recruitment exercise.”
The statement emphasized that all official recruitment communications would be made through the Service’s verified channels, including its website, official social media platforms, and national newspapers.
The Ghana Police further cautioned the public against engaging with individuals or groups soliciting money with the promise of employment into the Service.
“The public is hereby advised to disregard such fraudulent claims,” ACP Ansah-Akrofi stated, adding that anyone found engaging in these illegal practices would be arrested and prosecuted.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway to track the perpetrators behind these fake schemes.
The Police Service called on the public to assist by reporting suspicious activities at any nearby police station.
They reaffirmed its commitment to upholding transparency and protecting citizens from exploitation.
