The governments of the Republic of Ghana and the State of Grenada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the recruitment of Ghanaian nurses to serve in Grenada’s health sector.

The agreement, signed by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of both countries, marks a new chapter in bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Grenada, focusing on human resource exchange and the strengthening of health systems.

Speaking at a state luncheon at the Presidency during a two-days state visit by of Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Dickon Thomas Mitchell, President Mahama praised Ghanaian health professionals for their dedication and global reputation for excellence, describing them as valuable ambassadors of the nation’s healthcare system.

President Mahama said Grenada’s growing interest in recruiting Ghanaian nurses and allied health professionals presents new opportunities for structured collaboration between the two countries.

“In the health sector, Grenada’s interest in recruiting Ghanaian nurses and allied health professionals presents a valuable opportunity for structured collaboration between our two countries. Ghanaian health workers have gained international recognition for their professionalism and their compassion. And we are keen to explore arrangements that address both our national needs and Grenada’s health priorities,” President Mahama stated.

The President further noted that education remains another key area of cooperation between Ghana and Grenada.

“In education, we can develop partnerships through teacher exchanges, student mobility, and research collaboration,” he added.
