The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reassured Junior High School graduates that all qualified Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates will be placed in senior high or technical schools across the country.
In a statement signed by the head of public relations for GES Management, the service congratulated all BECE graduates on completing their examinations and confirmed that comprehensive preparations have been made to admit all freshers into senior high/technical schools effective September 18, 2026.
The GES emphasized that every qualified candidate will be placed in a school, with efforts made to ensure access to senior high/technical education for each student.
It also debunks media reports suggesting that about 72,000 students risk not being placed, stating that such claims are speculative and do not reflect reality; the public is urged to disregard them.
The Service further noted that adequate infrastructure and facilities are in place to accommodate all qualified students.
It added that the ongoing phase‑out of the double‑track system will not hinder students’ access to senior high/technical education and is expected to improve teaching and learning quality while maintaining full access for all students.
GES reaffirmed its commitment to providing equitable, inclusive, and quality education for every Ghanaian child, calling on all stakeholders to support this national objective.
