President John Dramani Mahama has assured residents of Zongo communities across the country that no community will be left behind in government’s development agenda.

According to the President, government is committed to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic opportunities within Zongo communities as part of efforts to promote inclusive national development.

President Mahama gave the assurance during Eid-ul-Adha prayers at the Black Star Square in Accra where he addressed Muslims and the general public.

“No community will be left behind in this national reset agenda,” he stated.

The President revealed that government will soon begin construction and rehabilitation of roads and other infrastructure projects in several Zongo communities across the country.

“Very soon, construction and rehabilitation of roads and other infrastructure projects will begin in several Zongo communities across the country,” he said.

Mr. Mahama explained that the projects will first begin in selected Zongo areas before being expanded to other communities nationwide.

He further disclosed that government plans to construct modern community day STEM secondary schools in densely populated Zongo communities to improve access to quality education.

“We will put modern community day e-block STEM secondary schools in dense Zongo communities or dense urban populations, so that the children would not have to travel far away to school,” he added.

The President also announced that government has recruited 6,000 Arabic teachers through the Youth Employment Agency to support Islamic education and create jobs for young people.

He stressed that government remains focused on improving living conditions in Zongo communities through investments in infrastructure, education, sanitation, healthcare and economic empowerment programmes.

Mr. Mahama called on Ghanaians to continue promoting peace, unity and tolerance while working together for national development.
