Communication Director for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO),Harrison Kojo Abbah has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot suspend Kennedy Ohene Agyapong because he “knows more than many of the people in the current leadership.”
Abbah made the comment during a political discussion on Angel FM’s _Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ_ on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. His remarks follow the NPP leadership’s decision to sanction Agyapong over recent attacks on the party.
“The NPP trained Kennedy Agyapong and now they’re reaping what they sowed. No one plants corn and harvests cocoa,” Abbah said. “He is reaping what he has sown.”
He challenged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other party leaders to take action against the Assin Central MP. “I’m challenging Dr. Bawumia and co that if they’re men, they should write a letter and suspend Kennedy Agyapong in the NPP and we will see what will happen. They can never suspend Kennedy Agyapong and that is the fact,” he said.
“Kennedy Agyapong is an integral person in the party. He knows all the secrets of the NPP. He knows a lot more than them,” Abbah added. “If not for Kennedy Agyapong, even Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo wouldn’t have become president — financially, spiritually, physically.”
Abbah argued that Agyapong’s influence makes him untouchable within the party. “You know the population Kennedy Agyapong gathers in Ghana, and there’s no way the NPP can eliminate Kennedy Agyapong from the party.”
He further accused Agyapong of past conduct that, in his view, created instability. “It came to a time in this country where Kennedy Agyapong insulted everyone in this country all because he wanted NPP to acquire political power,” Abbah said. “It is God that saved us as a country. Otherwise, Kennedy Agyapong would have caused tribal war.”
Abbah cited the MP’s clashes with religious leaders and journalists. “The works of many pastors in this country have collapsed because of Kennedy Agyapong. Pastor Nigel Gaisie always says this. He said it is God that saved him otherwise Kennedy Agyapong would have collapsed his work and church.”
He referenced Agyapong’s dispute with journalists working with investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. “He even threatened the security of investigative journalists to the extent that he put one of investigative journalists working with Anas Aremeyaw Anas on screens and ordered people to use objects to hit his head when they saw him.
“It wasn’t even up to a month when it was heard the young man had died and all fingers were pointing to Kennedy Agyapong because of the commentary he made,” Abbah stated.
Abbah said the NPP previously backed Agyapong’s actions. “NPPs were praising Kennedy Agyapong when he was creating chaos in the country. He never knew today would come.”
He described the current friction as self-inflicted. “It is Kennedy Agyapong who has made things come to this level,” Abbah said.
He added: “It is a big lesson to all of us who are entering politics that if you’re fighting for someone because of their interest, think about it because if the tables turn and you’re using the same policy against them, they will rise against you.”
