Ghana will mark the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving (NDPT) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the forecourt of the State House and the National Mosque at Kanda.
This year’s observance will be held under the theme ‘Resetting our values to build the Ghana we want’.
The core message for 2026 is that national transformation begins with personal transformation, drawing on two key scriptures: Quran 13:11 : “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves” and Romans 12:2 : “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

The campaign targets key groups across the country. Government is expected to lead with ethical conduct, accountability, and fair law enforcement. Religious institutions are to teach moral responsibility. Families must restore moral foundations at home.
Schools should strengthen civic and moral education. Media is urged to promote positive national values and reduce the glorification of corruption. Workplaces, youth, businesses, and civil society groups are to be ambassadors of change.

Also, five core national values will be promoted during the NDPT: Righteousness, integrity and honesty, discipline and responsibility, innovation, and respect for human dignity and unity.

The call for the day is expected to restore integrity where corruption thrives, encourage honesty, promote discipline and responsibility, embrace innovation over dependency, uphold human dignity, and foster unity for peaceful co-existence.
