The daughter of the late Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has called on members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the general public to disregard the announcement by her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo (Akofena), purporting to cancel the planned funeral of their late father.

Speaking Tuesday, July 28, 2026, on Angel Morning Show, the former Member of Parliament stated emphatically that her brother has no locus or authority to postpone or cancel the funeral arrangements, insisting that he has played no meaningful role in planning their father’s final rites.

Adwoa Safo disclosed, for what she described as the first time publicly, that from the period of their father’s passing through to the organisation of the 40-day observation, Israel Kwadwo Safo took no part in the planning, coordination or financial support of any of the activities.

According to her, despite making no contribution towards the event, he arrived at the 40-day commemoration with an entourage merely to make an appearance.

She further recalled that her brother had previously assured the public that he would organise a funeral for their father on a date he announced. However, she questioned why that promise was never materialised.

“If he could not honour his own publicly announced funeral arrangements, on what basis does he now seek to stop one that has been meticulously planned?”

An emotional Adwoa Safo said she remains resolute in ensuring that her father receives a burial befitting his extraordinary legacy and immeasurable contributions to Ghana, stressing that she owes him that final honour for all he did for her and countless others.

She revealed that she was at her father’s bedside during his final moments and that before his passing, Apostle Kwadwo Safo entrusted her with a number of personal responsibilities regarding matters to be undertaken after his death.

She considers it both a sacred duty and a moral obligation to fulfil those wishes.

Adwoa Safo also disclosed that the funeral arrangements were undertaken in close consultation with the Manhyia Palace, noting that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II personally played a pivotal role in determining the funeral dates.

She emphasised that the programme has received the blessing of the Palace and has progressed through the appropriate traditional processes.

According to her, official invitations have already been extended to the President of the Republic, former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Speaker of Parliament, senior government officials, traditional authorities and numerous distinguished personalities, many of whom have confirmed their attendance.

She stressed that extensive public awareness has already been created, all logistical and ceremonial preparations have been completed, and every major arrangement has been finalised.

“At this stage, there is simply no basis whatsoever for anyone to suggest that the funeral will be cancelled,” she asserted.

Adwoa Safo concluded by assuring members of the Kristo Asafo Church, admirers of Apostle Kwadwo Safo and the Ghanaian public that the funeral will proceed as scheduled, urging them to disregard any contrary claims and to continue preparing to give the renowned spiritual leader, industrialist, technologist and philanthropist a dignified and befitting farewell.
