Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has revealed how she survived the bullets fired at her vehicle allegedly by her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
According to her, she survived the 48 bullets by the grace of God.
It will be recalled that Adwoa Safo was shot multiple times in June, while in her vehicle outside the residence of her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
Speaking on Angel TV on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Adwoa Safo acknowledged the severity of the injuries and noted that not everyone could have survived the incident.
“If not for our only serving God, I would have died from the incident. Yes, it’s not everyone who can survive this – 48 bullets in my car, and not everyone can survive that,” she told Saddick Adams.
Emphasising the severity of the injuries she sustained, the former Gender Minister disclosed that the medical experts who treated her outside the country were surprised she did not succumb to her injuries.
“So, what happened to me was…. When I traveled outside to seek medical attention, surprisingly, the doctors who treated me kept asking me how I survived. But… I think that it was God who saved me.”
When queried on whether her brother intended to shoot and kill her, Madam Safo responded in the affirmative, noting that the intention was to eliminate her.
“My brother, if the bullets shot had been one or two, I would have hints that it was not intentional, but for 48 bullets, it means you have targeted the person with a shoot-to-kill intent,” she recounted the ordeal.
She used the platform to rebuke suggestions that her appearance at her brother’s residence was intended to cause mayhem.
According to Adwoa Safo, her intention was to have an amicable conversation with Akofena to help resolve the succession of their late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
