The death toll from Monday, August 3 accident at Birimso on the Kumasi Highway has risen to three after a minor who was injured in the crash died in hospital.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed the latest fatality on Tuesday, August 4. The identity of the minor is yet to be established.
Two other people, both male occupants of a fuel tanker, died at the scene. Six people were initially injured and sent to hospital. Five remain on admission.
The crash, which happened at about 11:00am at Brim River, involved a fuel tanker, an STC bus, a Mitsubishi pick-up and a Kia Sorento. The vehicles were burnt beyond recognition.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
