The Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, will lead a National Joint Service in Accra on Saturday, August 8, while Adwoa Safo will hold a Thanksgiving Service in Kumasi on Sunday, August 9, 2026, to honour their late father, Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
The Accra service will mark the birth month of the Founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission. It will be held at the Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences (Great ASASS), Awoshie at 9:00am and is themed “Intercessory Prayer to mark the Birth Month of Our Founder ‘As He Rests in His Glory’.”
According to the Mission, members from across the country and the general public are expected to attend. A dress code of black and white has been announced for Kantanka Month activities.
The Mission stated that the Accra service will include prayers, worship and reflection as part of activities to commemorate the founder’s birth month.
The two events come weeks after a disagreement within the family over their father’s funeral arrangements. Akofena I filed an injunction seeking to halt the funeral. Despite that, Adwoa Safo and other family members proceeded with the funeral last week.
