Leader of the Union Government and businessman, Akwasi Addai Odike, has raised concerns over the alleged money sharing to delegates by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirants, describing it as a form of inducement.
Speaking on Angel FM/TV on Monday, February 2, 2026, Mr. Odike described it as a is a full glare commercialization of the country’s democracy.”
He condemned the growing practice of vote-buying, arguing that it undermines the true spirit of democracy.
According to him, elections can only be considered free and fair when voters make choices independently, without financial or material inducements.
He emphasized that once a vote is influenced by gifts or money, it loses its freedom and the integrity of the electoral process is compromised.
