The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has announced the government’s plans to roll out the Secondary Education Transformation for Results and Job Creation initiative.
This announcement follows a visit from the Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer of the World Bank Group, Paschal Donohoe, to Manheam Basic School in Osu.
During the programme, Iddrisu emphasized that this flagship initiative aims to strengthen secondary education and prepare students for the job market.
“Significantly as you arrive in Ghana today, I look forward to the implementation of our new flagship, which is secondary education transformation for results, and for results which is very significant for us,” he stated.
He highlighted that the World Bank has committed $300 million to support Ghana in implementing the project.
“I’m told that the World Bank generously will support the government of Ghana with about $300 million to improve our secondary education transformation for results and skills,” he uttered.
Iddrisu also expressed his appreciation to the World Bank Group executives who attended the visit for their continued support of Ghana’s education services.
