The Ministry of the Interior has announced that the restriction on the use of motorbikes by residents of Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region has been lifted.

According to the ministry, the ban imposed on April 28, 2026, has been lifted with immediate effect.

In a statement, it indicated that the decision follows a review of the security situation in the area.

“Government has decided to lift the restriction on motorbike use in Binduri Township and its environs,” parts of the statement said.

The ministry commends Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, the Youth, and residents of Binduri and its environs for their cooperation, restraint, and support to the security agencies during the period of the restriction.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant, maintain peace, and support the security agencies in their efforts to sustain law and order in the area.

“Citizens are encouraged to use peaceful and lawful means to address grievances and promptly report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.”
