Legendary defender of Ghana Premier League (GPL) outfit Accra Hearts of Oak, Daniel Quaye, has rejected calls demanding that President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Okraku step down from his role.
Speaking on the growing calls after
Ghana’s disappointing campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mr. Quaye admitted leaders often face such criticism when dissatisfaction occurs.
In view of this, he noted that although President Kurt Okraku might not satisfy every individual, he has greatly achieved a lot for football at the helm of affairs.
“To me, I’ll say that Kurt Okraku has done nothing wrong to merit resignation. He is contributing his quota, and the fact that he is the head of our football means these blames will definitely come,” he said, speaking on Angel TV on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Dan Quaye, therefore, urged Mr. Okraku to be open to constructive criticism and suggestions from stakeholders, stressing that useful feedback should be considered and implemented to support the growth of Ghana football.
“What I can tell him is that whenever we make any suggestions to him, he should take them into consideration, pick the positive ones, and implement them to help our game’s development.”
