The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omanbapa AgriTech Limited to establish an organic fertiliser processing plant in Ghana.

The agreement, signed on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Accra, forms part of the Government’s efforts under the Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA).

According to MoFA, the facility is expected to be established in the Ashanti and Ahafo regions.

It is designed to convert agricultural waste into organic fertiliser, create jobs, support farmers, and contribute to climate-smart agriculture.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister for Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the gradual transition from inorganic to organic fertilisers to protect soil health and promote safe food production.

He emphasised the significance of the initiative, indicating that it would promote sustainable agriculture, improve soil health, and enhance food production.

As part of its support for the agricultural sector, Omanbapa AgriTech also pledged support for the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration.
