The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has praised the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) for its strong operational and financial performance, describing the company as a key driver of Ghana’s energy security and industrialisation.

Speaking at the company’s 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Palms by Eagles Conference Room, the Minister said Ghana Gas had delivered remarkable results in 2025, including increasing gas processing capacity from 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 130 MMscfd, boosting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production, and recording an impressive 97 percent growth in net profit.

The AGM brought together shareholders to consider and approve the company’s 2025 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements.

Hon. Jinapor said the achievements reaffirm Ghana Gas’ strategic role in advancing the government’s Gas-to-Power agenda and ensuring a reliable supply of natural gas for electricity generation and other key sectors of the economy.
“Ghana Gas delivered strong results, recording growth in gas processing and LPG production, alongside an impressive 97 percent increase in net profit. These achievements reaffirm the Company’s vital role in strengthening Ghana’s energy security and supporting the Government’s Gas-to-Power agenda,” the Minister stated.

While commending the company’s performance, the Minister urged Ghana Gas to sustain the momentum by improving operational reliability, expanding critical gas infrastructure, and pursuing strategic investments to meet the country’s growing energy needs.

He stressed that a resilient and efficient energy sector is essential for accelerating industrialisation, creating jobs, and driving sustainable national development.
Hon. Jinapor also assured the Board, Management and shareholders of the Ministry’s continued support to strengthen Ghana Gas and position it as a leading player in Ghana’s energy transition.
The Minister further praised the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) for its oversight of State-Owned Enterprises, saying its supervision has helped improve corporate governance and accountability across the public sector.

Presenting the Independent Auditor’s Report, KPMG, the company’s external auditors, highlighted Ghana Gas’ strong financial performance, noting significant reductions in operational costs, improved efficiency, and sound financial management.

The AGM provided shareholders and stakeholders with an opportunity to review the company’s operational and financial performance, assess its strategic direction, and reaffirm its commitment to delivering sustainable value while supporting Ghana’s energy security and socio-economic development.
