The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested 10 students of Koforidua Technical University for allegedly producing, distributing and selling cannabis-infused drinks and ice cream during the institution’s SRC Hall Week celebrations.
The intelligence-led operation, conducted between Friday, 31 July and Saturday, 1 August 2026, led to the arrest of the suspected ringleader, 23-year-old Priscilla Tetteh, and nine other young men believed to be part of an organised network.
NACOC said the suspects were allegedly caught selling the products to students and patrons at the event, warning that the production, possession, distribution and sale of edible products containing controlled substances remain illegal and pose a threat to public health.
The Commission said the suspects remain in custody and will be processed in accordance with the law, while urging parents, university authorities and the public to remain vigilant and report suspected drug-related activities.
