Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, who was disqualified from contesting the Ghana Football Association presidential race, has stated emphatically that his exclusion was carefully orchestrated.
He is convinced his omission from the FA presidential election was plotted and achieved by a session of topnotch personalities in the footballing cycle.
The Tema Youth Bankroller who has kept mute on the reason behind his shocking ‘disqualification’ has finally voiced out that the decision to prevent him from participating in the election in 2019 was ideally projected by a reputable figure in sports.
Speaking to Saddick Adams on Floodlight Sports, the former Black Stars management committee chairman stated that the mastermind behind his disqualification is an influential and a respectable football administrator.
He has therefore debunked allegations that he tagged Dr. Kofi Amoah-led GFA Normalization Committee as the cause.
“My disqualification from the GFA presidential election was a grand scheme designed to take me out. I know those who wrote the report to disqualify me. It was not from any member of the Normalisation Committee. A very active respectable person in the football fraternity doctored the document,” he told the Accra-based Angel 102.9 FM.
He further opined that his decision to reject the offer to serve on the FA’s adhoc committee was to prevent the FA from tying him down and scuttling his plan to seek any redress.
“I was never appointed to be part of the division 1. However, I accepted to be part of the adhoc committee but I later declined after I did my investigation and found out that I was only appointed to the GFA Adhoc committee because they wanted to use that as a means to shut me up” Palmer stressed.
Meanwhile, Osei Palmer has dragged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) following the ‘unfair’ disqualification from contesting the elections under the guise of allegedly breaching financial regulations after the transfer of his player Joseph Paintsil from Tema Youth to Belgian side KRC Genk.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) verdict on the legal tussle between the Ghana Football Association and Wilfred Kwaku Osei Palmer is expected to be announced on September 1, 2020 as communicated.
