The Queen Mothers’ Foundation of Ghana, has started the construction of sick bays in Senior High Schools (SHS) within deprived communities across the country.

This project is in commemoration of their 21st anniversary as a foundation.

This was revealed by in an interview on Angel FM’s morning show, ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ’ on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

“We decided to build sick bays in deprived areas and we started with Accra High Senior High School, which is almost at completion stage,” Nana Ama Serwaa Bonsu, the Queen mother of Offinso Kayira traditional area in the Ashanti Region, told host, Captain Smart.

She added that with the availability of a sick bay, students who feel unwell can be given first aid to stabilise their conditions before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The Foundation further endorsed Angel FM’s #PatientsLivesMatter campaign which aims to end medical negligence in Ghana’s health facilities.
