Some ardent supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have taken on the Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare for donating GHC 50,000 to the funeral of the late father of comedienne, Afia Schwarznegger.
This agitation by some citizens particularly known members of the ruling party on social media came after the controverisal media personality expressed her gratitude to some key personalities who supported her in cash and in kind during the funeral.
She, in a video she posted on her Instagram page, thanked the Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare for donating GH₵50,000 to support her transport the coffin to Ghana.
“My mother, Frema Opare, God bless you; GHC 50,000 from a woman. You said, Afia, use this to prepare for the funeral. May God bless you with long life. Everyone is saying God will bless me for what I have done for my father. I divide that blessing into two and add my half to yours. May God bless your children,” she posted on her instagram page.
Interestingly, her video has attracted a backlash from some NPP fottsoldiers who have expressed their displeasure at the gesture from the chief of staff.
