The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has reactivated its suspended industrial action following government’s failure to heed to their request for better conditions of service.

According to CLOGSAG, their decision follows an engagement with the National Executive Council (NEC) on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

Following this, the association has directed all members in the various ministries, departments and agencies to stay off work until further notice.

In a memo copied CLOGSAG said “all members are to stay at home from Thursday, April 21, 2022 until further notice.”

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Civil and Local Government Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) on Thursday, January 20, called of the industrial action it had declared earlier.

The intended strike was to press home demands for improved conditions of service for its members, after persistent failure on the part of the Finance Ministry to address their demands.

“The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) had reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government and CLOGSAG”

“The National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG has therefore decided to call off the strike” part of the statement added.
