A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Richard Amoako Baah, has questioned Nana Akufo Addo’s decision to maintain the current crop of appointees in his government.

Dr Amoako Baah who has indicated his disinclination to accept any appointment should Nana Akufo-Addo consider him fit for any role, said the President could not be too sure about his decision.

Dr Richard Amoako Baah is a staunch member of the governing NPP

President Akufo-Addo in an interview with North Star Radio in Tamale, as part of his two-day tour of the Northern Region, expressed satisfaction with the output of his appointees.

“Many of them for me have done outstanding work. Their output has been considerable, and that is what I look at,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo explained that “if the output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call.”

But Dr Amoako Baah, reacting to the development on TV3 Monday, August 8, 2022, believes that there are people within the NPP who are equally or more efficient and effective at discharging their duties as the current office holders and need the opportunity.

“This is not about me seeking for jobs or for anything, there are so many people, people have aspirations, you put this one there for two or three years, bring somebody else, not necessarily fire the other one and there will be instances where you will see the new person performing better. But if you don’t give anybody the chance how are you going to see that?

“It is good for your party too, you have so many people so why are you not looking at any other body. I am not talking for myself, because I have said it, if the President asks me for help, I will do but if he gives me an appointment I won’t take. If he says I should come and help him to do something I will do that but not appointmen,” he claimed in the interview monitored by Angelonline.com.gh
