Member of Parliament for Pru East, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has expressed grave concerns over the appointment of Dr. Tweneboa Forkuo as Managing Director of National Investment Bank (NIB).

According to him, it seems strange how a parliamentary candidate would be appointed to such an intricate position.

He espoused that, ” The Bank as we speak is in dire need of financial support and, proper leadership and management so the appointment of Tweneboa Forkuo who is also the parliamentary candidate for Manso Nkwanta Constituency looks quite strange.”

“How can you appoint a parliamentary candidate as a Managing Director of a nearly collapsing bank? How does he get the full concentration of the bank,? he questioned.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor did not find the appointment of Tweneboa Forkuo as the only problem. According to him, Philip Ofori-Asante as the deputy managing director also is a problem.

“His appointed deputy is also a former NPP parliamentary aspirant for Fomena Constituency. When this happens are we seeking to turn NIB into NPP branch?

These reactions from the law maker comes after the appointment of Tweneboa Forkuo as the managing director of NIB which takes effect, May 13, 2014.

The Bank communicated to its staff via a memo that Mr. Fokuo’s appointment was selected by “the majority shareholder,” elaborating that Philip Ofori-Asante has likewise been selected as Deputy Managing Director, mirroring Mr. Fokuo’s trajectory.
