Private Legal Practitioner, Charles Amoh Darteh, has affirmed his supports for the proposed shift system in some Ghanaian courts. He believes it is a step in the right direction.

He believes that implementing a shift system in Ghanaian courts will help address the backlog of cases and improve the efficiency of the judicial system.

Amoh Darteh made these assertions on Angel Morning Show on Monday 19, 2024, while sharing his views on the proposed court shift system.

He seized the opportunity to criticize the current state of Ghanaian courts, highlighting the excessive delays and financial burden placed on litigants due to case backlog.

“The ups and downs in the courts is too much,” he revealed.

However, he believes the shift system can address these issues and expedite the delivery of justice.

He urged Ghanaians and courts not yet included in the pilot program to participate to assess the effectiveness of the shift system.

He believes this will help identify its pros and cons, paving the way for a potential nationwide expansion to tackle case backlogs.

He emphasized the urgency of addressing these delays, stating that the current system discourages foreign investment due to slow dispute resolution.

The shift system is currently in a pilot phase starting March 25, 2024, with selected courts operating morning and afternoon sessions.
