The Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, has condemned the illicit sale of stool lands within Okuapeman.

The cautionary statement was issued over the weekend during the fifth Awukudae observation at the Okuapehene’s Palace in Akropong in the Eastern.

For years, unscrupulous individuals have been unlawfully selling stool lands to unsuspecting buyers, perpetrating a grave injustice against the Stool and community.

In response, the Okuapehene vowed to crack down on this illegality and will meet punitive measures to the offenders.

The list of lands affiliated with the Okuapehene’s stool, presented for proper consideration before any transactions, includes but not limited to:
Adampranya land
Adwowa Ahemase land
The land of the capital Akropong and its outskirts
Akokoase land

Otutuauo land
Obuoni or Bireku-bireku land
Aberewa Antra lands
Asase Koko land
Paratu lands
Asuafufu lands
Safo Lands
Ahabante lands
Konko lands
Kokofa lands
Atabui lands

“The general public is hereby cautioned against engaging in transactions involving these lands without the requisite approval from the Stool authorities, as doing so may result in the loss of property or land ownership due to the illegal nature of the purchase,” the Oseadeyo stated.

Since ascending the stool as Okuapehene in 2020, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III has consistently implemented measures aimed at propelling Okuapemman towards a
future marked by development and prosperity.

Such measures in this particular case is the Akuapem Customary land secretariat which has been launched and in the process of being setup; when fully implemented, it will curtail all illegalities with land sale and
purchase in Okuapeman.
