The National Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim says the party cannot go into the crucial December 7 polls if its rank and file do not change their attitudes.

“The [NPP] party cannot go into 2024 general elections with current attitude,” said the displeased party chair in an interview with Angel TV, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, shortly after the NPP’s candidate, Kwabena Boateng was declared winner in the hotly contested by election.

The legal practitioner is said to have won with about 58% of votes cast.

Ing. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the independent parliamentary candidate, secured about 40.8% of the votes.

The other candidates in the by-election — Esther Osei of the CPP, Beatrice Boakye of the LPG, and independents Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph— collectively account for less than 1% of the votes.

Despite winning the NPP candidate securing the needed victory for the party, his National Chairman is not pleased at all with his members attitude.

“I am not pleased with the results as the chairman of the party,” Mr Ntim expressed while speaking to Kofi Adomah Nwanwani.
