The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the headmaster of Pinna Senior High School in the Upper West Region, Adams Mahama Issahaku for allegedly smuggling food items meant for the school.
According to the service, the decision follows a directive from its Director-General.
GES noted it is in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations involving food items found in Mr. Issahaku’s official pick-up vehicle on his way from Pinna SHS to Wa on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
In a statement dated February 7, and signed by Razak Abdul-Korah, the Regional Director of GES for the Upper West Region, said the decision takes effective immediately pending a full scale investigations into the matter.
“kindly note that this directive is a procedural requirement and does not constitute presumption of guilt,” the statement reads.
Mr. Issahaku, GES said, would be notified of the findings and any subsequent decisions.
He has also been entreated to fully cooperate with the investigation by making himself available as needed and avoiding any actions that might compromise the process.
He has however been instructed to hand over the administration of the school and all associated property to the Upper West Regional Director of Education.
