The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced its decision to maintain the current producer price for cocoa for the 2025/2026 season, despite a recent price increase by neighboring Côte d’Ivoire.
According to COCOBOD, the decision follows careful consideration of the operational and financial implications facing the cocoa industry.
“Management will, however, consider the review of producer prices, fees, and margins for stakeholders for all the 2025/26 cocoa season,” it said in a statement dated April 8, 2025.
The decision was communicated in a letter to the Licensed Cocoa Buyers’ Association of Ghana (LICOBAG) and was signed by James Kofi Kutsoati, Deputy Chief Executive of Operations.
The statement advised stakeholders, including farmers and buyers, to take note of the decision and be guided accordingly.
