Political Assistant to Alan Kyerematen, Nana Yaw Sarpong, has urged the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to establish a vetting system for the verification and authentication of documentation related to individuals appointed by the government.
During a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) hosted by Saddick Adams on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Mr Sarpong argued that every appointed individual must undergo this system for the verification and authentication of their documents.
“If the President, a Minister, or an Employer is appointing someone and announces their names, before we issue their appointment letters, we must submit those names to National Security.
“There should be a dedicated office set up for vetting, verification, and authentication of documentation,” he suggested.
This follows the revocation of Anne Sansa Daly from the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Mr Sarpong urged Ghanaians to come to a consensus to support the establishment of this vetting system in the country for proper verification and authentication of documentation that may trigger policy debates.
“We’ve got to all come to a unanimous decision because this issue is present in every government and is crucial for national defence, which will inevitably trigger that policy debate.
“Before the government issues an appointment letter after mentioning the person’s name, we should check if indeed the person possesses Certificate A or Certificate B,” Mr Sarpong added.
