The Communications team member for the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has sharply criticized the previous administration for its handling of the National Services Authority (NSA) misconduct allegations, asserting that the lack of oversight and accountability has contributed to the happenings.

Mr. Owusu highlights some failures of the previous administration and emphasizes the absence of stringent regulations that allowed the NSA to work with impunity, which has led to criminalization in the sector.

In a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Tuesday, October 14, 2025, hosted by Saddick Adams, Mr. Owusu emphasized that over GH¢900,000,000 in funds have reportedly gone missing, raising questions about how the money was spent.

He questioned whether other officials were involved, aside the Former Director and his Deputy, Osei Asibey and Giftt Oware, insisting that the Attorney General must ensure full disclosure and fairness in the case.

He further stated that, “corruption and misuse of public funds continue to hinder national development, adding that no political party’s manifesto encourages stealing from the state so why must we end up like this.”

The Attorney General has already filed a case against the two individuals, representing the state in court over the alleged embezzlement, Money laundering, causing financial loss to the state and other counts against them.

“Monies stolen by Gifty Oware could buy over 85,000 live jackets to the people of Volta to prevent this natural routine disasters,” Mr. Owusu said further in reference to recent tragedy of a boat that capsizes on the Volta Lake and claims the lives of many.
