The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga Central, Emmanuel Adottey Allotey, has officially launched the ‘Nkokɔ Nketenkete’ and National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) at the Ga Central Municipal Assembly.

He urged beneficiaries to seize the opportunity for sustainable development.

In his speech, Mr. Allotey emphasized that the initiative is a capital investment aimed at resetting the grassroots economy by empowering youth, creating jobs, and strengthening communities.

“When farmers thrive, the economy grows; when artisans expand, jobs are created; when the youth are empowered, communities become stable and prosperous,” he said.

In a passionate address to the beneficiaries of the NAP, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinator, Jones Klutse, also reiterated the importance of protecting the programme and ensuring its success.

“Hold this programme dearly, you do not harm the programme and embarrass President Mahama.

“Do not give them the cause to regret for investing into this programme,” Mr. Klutse appealed.

He further pleaded with the beneficiaries and the hard-working MCE and coordinating directors to collaborate with stakeholders so that the programme becomes a success.

Mr. Klutse also informed the beneficiaries that they will receive stipends pending validation of the programme, after which payments will be made to the Master crafts and apprentices.

“Also, you will be given some stipends, we are waiting for validation and once it is done, all payments will be done to the Master crafts and apprentices,” he added.

The ‘Nkokɔ Nketenkete’, youth apprenticeship and master support programme was formally declared launched during the event, with officials highlighting its role in fostering economic growth and youth development in Ga Central.
