The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has introduced a series of innovative initiatives to support the government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy, aimed at transforming Ghana into a competitive, export-driven, and industrialized economy.
The initiatives, designed to enhance trade facilitation and improve competitiveness, include the launch of the Shippers App, a digital platform allowing shippers to lodge complaints and receive timely support, available on Playstore and Appstore.
The Authority has also equipped frontline officers with mobile phones to address complaints beyond office hours and established an E-Platform for reporting transit-related issues, ensuring efficient resolution.
GSA has intensified night-time monitoring of port operations to ensure compliance with service standards and operational efficiency.
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority is also advocating for cost reduction and operational reforms, promoting measures to reduce port charges and improve service delivery.
These efforts aim to reduce cargo clearance delays, improve vessel turnaround time, and enhance overall port efficiency, positioning Ghana as a regional trade and logistics hub serving both domestic and transit markets.
GSA’s initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and development, supporting Ghana’s vision of becoming a major player in regional and global trade.
