Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has dismissed reports suggesting tensions between its Chief Executive Officer, Judith Adjobah Blay, and the Board of Directors, describing such claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on June 6, 2026 and signed by Richard Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Affairs, the company said recent social media publications alleging a leadership feud were “entirely false” and intended to create unnecessary division within the organisation.
Ghana Gas stressed that relations between management and the Board, chaired by former statesman Hon. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, remain strong, professional, and anchored on mutual respect and shared institutional goals.
“The relationship between the Board and Management is founded on mutual respect, professionalism, trust, and a shared commitment to advancing the strategic objectives of Ghana Gas,” the statement said, rejecting suggestions of internal conflict.
The company further urged the public to disregard claims of infighting, describing them as baseless and aimed at undermining its operations and reputation.
Management also addressed recent media commentary surrounding staff promotions, clarifying that 50 employees were promoted as part of an ongoing internal exercise aimed at addressing delayed career progression and structural realignment.
According to Ghana Gas, the promotions were carried out following internal consultations and with the oversight and support of the Board of Directors.
“The assertion that Ghana Gas is in a state of chaos exists only in the imagination of individuals who appear determined to undermine the Company’s progress,” the statement added.
Beyond the controversy, the company highlighted operational gains, noting an increase in gas production throughput from a historic average of 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) to about 120 MMSCF/D.
It said the improvement has strengthened fuel supply, supported Ghana’s power sector stability, and enhanced national energy security.
Ghana Gas further indicated that improved plant availability and operational efficiency have helped moderate fuel costs for power producers and industrial users.
Management reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and strong corporate governance, stating that it will continue to work closely with the Board to advance the company’s strategic mandate.
