The Mankessim Traditional Council has announced the passing of its revered Paramount Queenmother, Dr. Nana Ama Amisah III.

The distinguished Queenmother passed away in late May 2026 at the age of 63.

Enstooled on July 2, 1994, she reigned for over three decades until her demise.

At a solemn gathering on Friday, June 5, 2026, the Chief of Mankessim-Okyiakyire, Nana Okutsekupon, officially pronounced the Queenmother’s departure to the people of Mankessim.

He explained that although the family had informed the Council of the incident nearly a month earlier, traditions required elders and kingmakers to perform sacred rites before making a public announcement.

On his part, Paramount Chief of the Mankessim Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI, reaffirmed the development and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, the Council, and the people at large.

He eulogized the departed Queenmother, noting that both were installed on the same day, an occurrence he said strengthened their bond until her passing.
