Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah has urged Christians to rely on God’s Spirit rather than human strength, influence or personal ability in their pursuit of success, saying lasting achievements are only possible through faith and obedience to God.
He made the remarks while delivering a sermon at this year’s Pentecost Men Ministry (PEMEM) Day celebration at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Trasacco, which coincided with Father’s Day.
Speaking on the theme, “The Mandate, Responsibilities, and Faith of a Godly Man,” Mr. Debrah drew inspiration from Zechariah 4:6 to encourage believers, particularly men, to remain steadfast in their faith.
“Lasting success is not achieved by human strength, influence or ability, but by the Spirit of the Lord,” he said, quoting the scripture, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.”
Reflecting on his personal journey from a humble background, the Chief of Staff said God’s grace, unwavering faith and obedience had shaped every stage of his life.
He encouraged the congregation not to lose hope during difficult moments, noting that what may appear to be failure or disappointment could be part of God’s greater purpose.
“Some of life’s greatest disappointments are often God’s way of redirecting us to His greater purpose. What may appear to be a closed door today may, in fact, be preparation for an even greater tomorrow,” he said.
Mr. Debrah also reminded Christian men of their responsibilities as leaders in their homes, churches and communities.
“I reminded our men of their God-given responsibilities, to lead their families with love, provide for their households, nurture their children in godly values, serve the Church faithfully, and contribute positively to the development of our nation. True leadership begins with service, humility, integrity and compassion,” he stated.
He further encouraged believers to remain faithful regardless of the size of their faith, saying God honours genuine trust and obedience.
“Our faith does not have to be extraordinary; it simply needs to be genuine. When we trust God, remain steadfast in prayer and submit to His will, He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can imagine,” he said.
Mr. Debrah concluded by urging Christians to continue growing spiritually and to trust God’s perfect timing in every circumstance, expressing hope that God would continue to strengthen families and bless the nation.
