Former Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service and Founder of the Network of Women in Growth, Baroness Mawusi Nudekor Awity, has called for greater recognition and empowerment of women as critical drivers of Ghana’s economic and social development.

Delivering the keynote address at the 12th Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards organised by The Business Executive Communications Group (TBE), Baroness Awity said no nation can achieve its full potential if women are excluded from contributing meaningfully to development.
She described the annual awards scheme as an important platform that celebrates women whose achievements, leadership, innovation, and service continue to inspire communities and future generations across Africa.

“No nation can hope to attain its full economic and social potential while limiting the contributions of half of its population,” Baroness Awity said.
She commended TBE for sustaining the initiative for 12 editions, noting that recognising women’s accomplishments helps create role models and encourages others to pursue excellence with integrity and determination.

The former TVET Service Director-General said the awards go beyond celebrating personal success, as they highlight the wider impact of women’s contributions in sectors including business, finance, education, healthcare, law, science, technology, agriculture, media, public service, entrepreneurship, arts, and philanthropy.

The Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards, now in its 12th year following its inaugural edition in 2014, was established to identify and honour women whose personal conduct, professional achievements, and societal contributions have been exemplary.
The initiative, conceptualised by The Business Executive Communications Group, was created to address the historical under-representation of women in recognition schemes and provide a dedicated platform to celebrate outstanding female achievers across Ghana’s public and private sectors.

Awardees are selected from diverse fields including entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, diplomacy, sports, traditional leadership, and public administration, with the ultimate goal of inspiring more women and promoting inclusive national development.
