Former Weija-Gbawe Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and businessman, Kwame Bekoe, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser position, pledging to revive the party’s grassroots and rebuild its youth structure ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking to journalists at Kokomlemle where he outlined his vision and strategic goals, Bekoe lamented that the party’s youth wing in the region has grown inactive.
He attributed the decline to ineffective leadership by some party executives and insisted that urgent action is required to bring back dissatisfied grassroots supporters.
”Restoration of hope is critical right now because we have lost touch with our grassroots and the youth. Rebuilding that connection is my main priority if I am given the mandate to lead Greater Accra,” Bekoe stated.
Mr. Bekoe stressed that “The NPP Youth Uprise” program focuses on aggressive recruitment and organizational drives across educational institutions from Senior High Schools to Universities throughout the region.
According to him, an energized youth front will be the driving force needed to secure electoral victory for NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in 2028.
Also, the aspiring Youth Organiser took swipe at President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, arguing that the “ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has failed to live up to its promises, citing economic hardship, rising inflation, and frequent increases in fuel prices.
He also dismissed key NDC policies, including the 24-hour economy initiative and poultry farming programs, describing them as ineffective and visible only on paper”.
Bekoe further called for unity within the NPP, expressing confidence that a revitalized youth base in Greater Accra will deliver the region and the presidency back to the NPP in 2028.
