The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the prompt payment of outstanding allowances to National Service Personnel (NSP) across the country.
The Authority assured personnel and stakeholders that concrete steps are being taken to clear all arrears before the end of the week.
According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week to cover two months of allowances.
“Management is committed to ensuring that all verified and legitimate arrears are cleared by close of this week,” the statement signed by Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh said.
The delay in disbursement, however, has been attributed to an ongoing verification process by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).
The NSA explained that this process is necessary to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finalized.
Management noted that allowances remain fundamental to supporting service personnel during their year of national service, stressing that every individual deserves timely payment of their stipends.
The Authority further acknowledged the patience and resilience demonstrated by service personnel during the period of delay.
“We acknowledge the patience, resilience demonstrated by Service Personnel during this period and your service to the nation remains deeply valued and appreciated.”
