The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially opened submissions for the 2026 edition of December in GH, a festive season designed to position Ghana as one of Africa’s most sought‑after cultural and tourism destinations.
The initiative invites event producers, cultural innovators, and experience creators to shape a multi‑city celebration that blends music, film, fashion, cuisine, heritage, and modern creativity into an immersive journey across the country.
According to GTA, the 2026 season will run from December 1, 2026, to January 3, 2027, evolving beyond a simple lineup of events into a curated cultural experience that showcases Ghana’s vibrant identity worldwide.
The Chief Executive Officer for the GTA, Maame Efua Houadjeto described “December in GH” as a movement that highlights Ghana’s rich heritage and aims to make the country a top destination for culture, entertainment, and heritage tourism, with an emphasis on regional engagement and enhanced visitor experiences.
The Authority called for well‑developed, experience‑driven concepts that reflect Ghana’s tourism growth and authenticity.
The Authority noted that proposals must demonstrate high production standards, cultural genuineness, and strong audience engagement to contribute to a cohesive national narrative.
Director of the International Affairs Secretariat, Annabelle McKenzie, stressed that the goal is to craft memorable experiences that shape how Ghana is experienced and remembered, focusing on return, connection, and discovery.
Submissions are open until Monday, July 13, 2026, and must be sent via http://bit.ly/3P2Tdhi.
Selected proposals will be integrated into the national campaign and promoted through GTA’s local and international platforms to strengthen Ghana’s reputation as a premier cultural and tourism hub.
