Veteran highlife musician and media personality, Akosua Agyapong, has criticized the growing trend of celebrities publicly discussing their marital challenges on television and radio.
Speaking during an interview on Angel TV’s Experiences in Life program, Akosua Agyapong described the practice as uncivilized and unnecessary.
According to her, personal issues within a marriage should be handled privately by the couple involved rather than being aired before the public.
“You don’t have to come and sit on TV and start talking about your marriage. It is uncivilized. If you are an actress, a singer, or whatsoever, and you have any issues with your husband, you don’t need to come out to tell the public. It’s just uncivilized behavior,” she said.
Akosua emphasized that even if she were facing challenges in her own marriage, she would choose to keep them private.
“If I even have issues with my marriage, it’s no one’s business. It should be my husband’s and my problem to solve,” she added.
The veteran entertainer further stressed that marriage requires maturity and understanding, noting that not every relationship is destined to last forever.
“Something you both have seen each other’s nakedness. It takes maturity to be in a relationship. If marriage doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. There is no need to sit on TV or radio and talk about it,” she stated.
